Don’t Forget the Love

A phrase that needs to go away is “It’s not personal. It’s just business.” Rubber trees don’t care about how much you make. Automobiles don’t sit there and go “I hope someone spends a lot of money on me.” If you place a stack of hundred dollar bills on the moon, they’ll just sit there. Humans are the only ones who recognize the value of money and therefore all business is personal.

When working with the press, we try to remember that writers and journalists aren’t just covering us. They are trying to be recognized, just like we are. This is especially true in social media.

Thursday I got a press request from Cheyenne Davis, who wanted to talk about racism in porn and discuss the subject with sex workers in the entertainment business. I suggested some clients to speak with her and suggested some additional contacts. She happily responded. That could have been the end of it.

But, I noticed something. She included her twitter profile in the signature. I looked her up. Noticing her profile was adult biz positive, I tweeted out to some high profile associates in Femdom and asked if she could get some followers. They looked over her profile, and I got a resounding “hell yeah!”

ROI on this sort of thing is difficult. Maybe we’ll see her at DomCon next year. Possibly, it could score us an interview with Anne and Brittany from The Dungeon Store. We never really know what will happen until it happens. But I love it when it does.

Don’t forget to share the love.

Can We Do That? Sending Different Press Releases

Violet wands, BDSM Gear and More at The Dungeon Store

Recently, Anne Bryne of The Dungeon Store was published in Xbiz. About the same time, Brittany Wilson, Anne’s Brand Manager appeared on The Rocket Review to show off Dungeon Store kinky impact toys and body safe silicone products from Split Peaches.

Can we send out two different press releases for the same client? Hell yes!

In a perfect world, your publicist would be an multitasking octopus, writing press releases specifically tailored for each media outlet and journalist. This is exactly the opposite of cookie cutter press releases most publicists deliver.

All publicists have a bulk list, but the goal is still the same, hit the target and place a story.

In this case, we crafted a press release on Wilson’s appearance to run in Xbiz and their rival, AVN. On the same day, a press release went out on Bryne’s article on rope for sexy bondage to adult industry outlets outside of those to publications. Both releases placed, increasing SEO and getting orders for a full display of rope and accessories.

Some outlets were skipped altogether. Publicity sacrilege? No. PR is not spam. Even in the adult business, there are outlets like Erotic Trade Only that have specific criteria for publishing. We do the best we can, but if I cram a journalist’s e-mail full of unwanted releases, an addition to the “BLOCK” list is going to happen sooner or later. This is why publicity is about crafting what you do and not giving up. We’ll have new releases and pitches for those we missed at a later time.

It may stop, but it never ends. See you at YNOT Summit!

Brittany Wilson of The Dungeon Store and Split Peaches Guests on The Dark Mark Show

Violet wands, BDSM Gear and More at The Dungeon Store

Note: This is one of many different press releases written for Wilson’s appearance on The Dark Mark Show. Mark really did his homework and we got a lot of good material out of his interview. We were able to create different releases to pitch to multiple outlets and transcripts will be posted on social media too. Kind thanks to Mark and Jamie for having Brittany on their show!

Los Angeles — Brittany Wilson, Brand Manager of The Dungeon Store and Split Peaches was recently a special guest on The Dark Mark Show, a subculture and comedy podcast.

The Dark Mark Show is hosted by Dark Mark, a Gothic comedian known for his stand up across Hollywood and Los Angeles. Kinky actress and comedian Jamie Gendron joined in as co-host for the evening.

Wilson spoke about working pleasure products business, her passion about educating the public about kink and sexual health, and the products she works with.

Wilson gleefully mentioned how The Dungeon Store acquired Split Peaches pleasure products in 2020. “It was a pandemic addition to our business. While everyone spent the pandemic learning to do their own sourdough starter, I learned how to make body safe dildos! The goal of the greater line is whimsy. Make it rainbow, make it fun, make it cute.”

Wilson and Gendron educated Dark Mark on the basics of violet wands, a specialty at The Dungeon Store.

“It shocks you in the right places.” Gendron explained. “I had a boyfriend who introduced me to that. He definitely made a fan out of me.”

“You have the device, it plugs into the wall, and you have different attachments in the end of the device,” Wilson instructed. “So most of the things you’re looking at are attachments that plug into the device itself… I can’t think of another fetish item that is as versatile as a violet wand is. You can use a body contact cable, which allows you to become the conductor, at which point, you can use your hands to shock your partner. You can use your tongue… From the tip of your nose to the tips of your toes, you can just be electrified… They’re a really sensual toy!”

When Mark asked about items for beginners, Wilson recommended the vegan friendly, Bedroom Bondage Kit from The Dungeon Store.

“That’s the beginning of restraints and impact and that begins to cover a good, well rounded introduction,” she suggested.

The episode is now available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thgGB4u4Uso on AudioBoom at https://audioboom.com/posts/7889967-brittney-wilson-of-the-dungeon-store-and-split-peaches and will soon be available on www.RenagadeRadio.com, as well as and iHeartRadio.

World Wide Web — In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride season, The Dungeon Store has whipped out a limited edition of rainbow pride neoprene floggers.

“We’re so excited to unveil these for pride season!” exclaimed Anne Bryne, Founder of The Dungeon Store. “You’ll be impressed with the vivid color and solid craftsmanship that go into these. Tops will love the ease of swinging them. Bottoms will love the feel.”

“BDSM roots are firmly in LGBTQ+ history and we stand with the community,” Bryne noted. “The Dungeon Store would not be here without the Gay community and we are proud to offer products like our neoprene flogger in pride colors.”

In addition to rainbow pride colors, neoprene floggers from The Dungeon Store are available in solid colors for cruising. Stylish tops can find floggers available in vibrant colors such as light blue, yellow, purple, pink, red, orange and green to match hanky codes.

Brittany Wilson of Split Peaches and The Dungeon Store Guests on Kinky Cocktail Hour

Dungeon Store and Split Peaches on Kinky Cocktail hour to discuss silicone pleasure products and hand crafted BDSM gear
KInd thanks to Saffer Master and Lady Petra for having Brittany Wilson on their show. It’s an awesome interview!

World Wide Web — Brittany Wilson, Brand Manager for Split Peaches and The Dungeon Store was recently on The Kinky Cocktail Hour. Wilson was on the podcast to discuss quality BDSM gear from The Dungeon Store and the platinum silicone line of fantasy pleasure products from Split Peaches.

The Kinky Cocktail Hour is a podcast hosted by Saffer Master and Lady Petra. Their show is a conversation between adults about sex forward relationships, kinky lifestyles and frank communication. The couple interview guests over drinks on a variety of topics ranging from fetish, relationships, sex and more.

“I would strongly argue my kink is educating people and informing people,” said Wilson as she described growing up in the pleasure products business and her background. “I spend a lot of time at events educating and educating from a topping perspective… The Dungeon Store is something that has been near and dear to my heart for my whole life.”

When asked what makes The Dungeon Store stand out, Wilson replied, “A lot of our violet wand accessories are made in house… They are spark gapped for safety. They are made with love and handcrafted… Ninety percent of our products are by craftsmen, they’re made by artisanal masters of their craft. I know these craftsmen, they’re my family. I’ve known some of them for over half my life.”

The conversation turned to Split Peaches, the body safe line of platinum silicone pleasure products.

“Split Peaches is really approachable for people who aren’t necessarily into BDSM, and people who hear handcuffs and feel themselves clench up in abject terror,” reassured Wilson. “It’s silicone hand poured dildoes. I pour them. They are in whimsical shapes like unicorn horns. They’re made in rainbows and pastel rainbows and vivid rainbows and cherry twists and cotton candy colors.”

Silicone toys are so straightforward in so many ways,” Wilson mentioned. “The ones I make are dishwasher safe. Toss them in the top rack, you’re good to go. You can clean them with Dawn dish soap. I love the simplicity. I love the elegance.”

Lady Petra and Saffer Master were impressed by the harnesses from Split Peaches.

“We sell strap-on harnesses that are made by one of our Americana leather workers, a charming man based out of the Midwest,” Wilson noted. “The whole thing uses a two D-ring tightening system so you can literally fit any body type. It fits almost like a bikini would. It’s low, but still high enough to give you leverage and control.”

LOS ANGELES, CA– May 6, 2021 – Christopher Street West Association Inc (CSW), the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that produces the annual LA Pride celebration, announces its planned June programming. LA Pride 2021: Thrive with Pride will feature a month-long combination of events including a live streamed concert presented by TikTok.

CSW has also expanded and diversified its own board, with a focus on true community representation including with Sharon-Franklin Brown as its president. Part of the internal mandate includes looking at ways the non-profit can go beyond a June Pride celebration and actively work for and within the Los Angeles LGBTQ+ community. LA Pride also anticipates more annual programming beyond the month of June designed to ensure Pride can be continuously celebrated all year long.

Current confirmed programming sponsors include: SKYY Vodka, Nordstrom, Coca-Cola, Tinder, UPS, Cedars-Sinai and Lord Jones with more to be added soon.

Thrive with Pride

Pride 2021 activations are themed around the daily reminder to Thrive with Pride.

“To thrive means to flourish and progress despite the circumstances. Pride this year is a moment for you to stop and breathe,” said Sharon-Franklin Brown, CSW board president. “It’s a moment to remember you’re not just surviving one of the hardest years in recent memory, but growing into your truth. This is why we were so intentional in our planning. We want to bring a moment of celebration, a moment to highlight the community, and an opportunity to give back. If we as a community can come together, even for a moment, to realize we’ve broken down some barriers put on us, it’ll strengthen our resolve to continue tearing more down for those to come after us.”

“After an unprecedented year of challenge and struggle, I am so pleased that this year’s pride festivities embrace the spirit of the first pride parade and our activist roots,” said Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell. “By bringing together LGBTQ+ communities from every corner of our City, we will uplift all voices and elevate the important work of the icons of the LGBTQ movement who sacrificed everything in their young lives at the time so we can all celebrate together in 2021. With a mix of virtual and potential in-person events, this year’s festivities will keep our community safe and connected while providing every Angeleno an opportunity to embrace giving and volunteerism.”

Thrive with Pride Concert and TV Special

LA Pride weekend will kick-off on Thursday night, June 10th with a concert exclusively presented by and live streamed on TikTok featuring hyper-pop diva Charli XCX and a showcase of up and coming LGBTQ+ performers across genres. In-person concert opportunities are not available at this time. Fans and followers can follow @tiktokforgood and @lapride on TikTok for updates and advanced promotions.

Further, a televised special titled “Thrive with Pride Celebration” is set for Saturday, June 12th airing 9:00pm-10:00pm PDT on ABC 7 Los Angeles, the most-watched station in Southern California, will feature special guests, performances and LA Pride honorees.

Pride Makes a Difference: Month-Long Day of Service

In recognition of the incredibly difficult work Los Angeles social justice and non-profit organizations have put into achieving equity, actionable change and stability, LA Pride will launch a 30-day give back campaign to support these efforts. Pride Makes a Difference will highlight opportunities for Angelenos to sign up to either volunteer, or donate goods and/or money to local organizations in Los Angeles County. Pride Makes a Difference is a new program in conjunction with Big Sunday. As part of these new efforts, drop off locations will be set up all throughout Los Angeles. A list of selected local organizations and drop off sites will be available soon to choose from, as well as the sign-up details and commitment.

“Our utmost priority in whatever we’re doing to celebrate Pride this year ensures safety and follows CDC-approved pandemic guidelines,” continued Brown. “That’s why we’re announcing this programming first. Any potential in-person celebratory activations will be announced at a later date in the coming weeks. The more we put safety first, the more likely we’re able to plan big physical events in the future, including Pride 2022, where we can celebrate who we are, where we came from, and where we need to go.”

Yummy Anime Talks About Camming on The Kinky Cocktail Hour

Important notes: Playing it safe, no photo will be posted here for this release. Photos are available on request. This release is a courtesy, and is not from Chaturbate, nor endorsed by Chaturbate.

World Wide Web — The Kinky Cocktail Hour recently featured Kate, who broadcasts as Yummy Anime on Chaturbate.com and discussed her life as a cam starlet and performer in Russia.

Kate started broadcasting on Chaturbate around 2018, and took some time off for her first child. She recently returned to camming as Yummy Anime, and is rebranding herself through the free platform and social media. She appeared on The Kinky Cocktail Hour with help from her translator, to help with some of the conversation between Russian and English.

This week’s cocktail was a Hendrix Cucumber Gin and Tonic a refreshing beverage to enjoy after after great sex.

In the conversation, Kate brought up how Chaturbate helped her get past her self perceptions and having been bullied.

“I started to feel very confident…and it helped me to meet my future husband,” said Kate. “This kind of industry is actually my own way to become successful. I’m more than accepted in appearance and the performances I do. I’ve never been much accepted. Now I feel that acceptance. [It] helped me with my mental health and my self esteem.”

Kate also discussed what it’s like broadcasting from Russia, life behind the scenes as a cam starlet and the creation of Yummy Anime, her online persona on Chaturbate and social media.

“It’s my perception of myself. When I was younger, I was very shy and not very outspoken. I had this vision of a small anime girl I could see as my alter-ego.”
